I consider this past weekend to be a successful one, and I feel like I accomplished quite a lot for not really leaving the house.
Friday I finished up the peaceful story of Siddhartha and caught up with some movie watching, including Smart People and The Philadelphia Story. Had to go help some family out of a bind that night as well, but it gave me an opportunity to see my Aunt and Uncle's brand new house which is only a few minutes from mine. It's amazing.
Saturday I lazed around, started reading With Our Good Will:30 Years of Shakespeare in Idaho written by Doug Copsey, who was an original founder or donor when Idaho Shakespeare Festival began over 30 years ago in downtown Boise at what is now the Main Street Bistro. It was an amazing book of Idaho history of theater and arts. Made a quick run to the mall and Staples before heading back home to start work on more file organization in my office, disposing of unneed or unwanted old bills and papers that just seem to fill up space.
Continued my movie watching and being lazy with Dr. Zhivago and catching up on much needed television including 3 episodes of Swingtown. I also made my first ever loaf of fresh and homemade banana bread with streusal topping. It was very good.
Sunday Mom came over and we started on the task of another year of Peach jam fresh from my yard and the overflowing peach tree. We came out with 21 jars and only 1/3 of the peaches used. Next up are some pies and then down the line, some more jam before Christmas season. We did some yard work, watering, laundry, and then she had to leave for work at the fair.
I started in on finishing reading Knocked Out By My Nunga Nungas. Mission accomplished. Also finished With Our Good Will before watching Plan 9 From Outerspace, Soylent Green and King Kong (old version).
I agreed to another season of fantasy football, so I chatted it up with the all boy league (aside from myself) at 9pm with three computer interruptions. The new battery should be arriving this week which is about time.
Off to read the next book, 7th Heaven, by James Patterson. A much needed easy reader after the past few days.
And it's another week.
