All the World's a Stage

Another fun weekend in the mix and plenty of things ahead.

It all started Wednesday with the Chicago concert at the Western Idaho Fair. I'm pretty sure it sold out and there was a huge crowd, standing room only by the time we arrive a half hour before showtime. Lucky for us, we had box seats. Yeah! It was an amazing concert out in the night air.

My good friend from high school, Molly, is in town for almost a month, which is nearly a record since we graduated from high school and she made her journey into the unknown. Or Seattle. Recently DC. And now LA. Friday we went to a concert at the Knitting Factory, the Avett Brothers, which was actually pretty great for a band I've never heard of. We had some beers and listened to this folk-rock/countryish band the was very creative and upbeat and a little wild and crazy.

Saturday I was up and ready for another year of Tour de Fat with Heidy, Andrew, Steve, Lindsay and Jenn. For the short time we were there it was pretty fun, but a whirlwind. I got myself an awesome T-shirt and we found other frequent TDF fans. I never had a chance to relax after that, had to run home and shower again, pack up and meet mom for our 4th night out at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival. This year we finally got out season tickets and have diligently been attending the shows. It's the last week of rep before the final show starts in September ("Greater Tuna"). We watched MacBeth, an amazing play by Shakespeare. My favorite part: the witches. They're just too cool. Got my much needed hug by a great actor and friend, MA, before they hit the stage running. It was an amazing show and if you have any free time this week you should go.

Then, as if I hadn't done enough that day, I needed to stop by a going away party for my friend Mike, who is off to a new job and a new life at KGW in Portland. It was good catching up with old KTVB folk, but I was so tired my eyes burned and I could barely keep them open long enough to hold a conversation.

Up at 6am Sunday for two services of church singing. Back to the fair briefly for an Elephant Ear, ice cream cone, lemonade and visit my mom. Now that the fair's over, she's breathing easier, and taking a much needed day off of work.

This week is just as busy.
